THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD
 by Lola Bailey

After all of the research on children's rights I think I finally understand the rights of a child.

First parents only have the right to reproduce. There is no such thing as parental rights, only responsibility.
The parents responsibility is to provide a child with the best physical and mental health possible.

  • To recognize their mental and physical needs and provide it to the best of their ability along with housing, food and clothing.
  • To provide them with an education that will help them achieve their highest potential
  • To aid them in getting the education and to take them to the doctors to protect their physical and mental health and live a life that will support all of the above.
  • They are to set an example of a moral life to teach them about their religion if they have one.
  • To produce a child that is a contribution to society.
  • They have a right to any financial gain the child comes into.
  • It is the child that has the rights. They are a PERSON not a sub person and protected by the Constitution and Bill of Rights of the U.S.

They have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and it is up to the parents to protect these rights. IF the parents fail to do so then the States are suppose to step in and do it for the child to ensure the child grows into a productive member of society.

Now all we have to do is convince the States that the old English common law that a child is the property of the parent has to be thrown out and to recognize this. A person has the right to reproduce but not to damage the reproduction or deny them their civil rights.

    Thanks for caring.  Lola, WV

That grandparents are a child's first choice when asked who they want to live with if removed from a parents home.
